Exporting : from start to finance
Published in Unknown Binding by Liberty Hall Press ()
Author: L. Fargo Wells
Average review score:

practical and good from one who is in the business
The ordinary person would not think that the business and professional man in the State of Idaho has much need for foreign export/import information. That is not the case and the WELLS/DULAT book on EXPORTIONG FROM START TO FINANCE was just the ticket for many of us. The practical approach, examples and forms in the book were invaluable to us. It is great to have a readable book by someone who is in the business and who knows what they are talking about.

"THE" Book 4 Serious Exporters, Home-based or Fortune500
There are plenty of books which are overviews of exporting. THis book gives details of export paperwork, contracts, samples of exporter representation agreements between exporters and manufacturers/suppliers and all the nuts and bolts of exporting in detailed form. If you don't get this book for your business you are crazy. All acronyms, strategies, problems are discussed in details. Especially good for home-based exporters who wants to succeed quickly without all the learning disasters.

Recommend this book for any exporter
Having been involved with exporting companies and foreign licenses in the past, I knew just the book to recomend when my daughter asked me for the best source for "how to" information on exporting, including government assistance and financial support. I sent her my copy of Exporting from Start to Finance which several of my associates use for reference and for teaching new staff. She tells me it was just what she was looking for. Richard Gould

The Ice Princess (Wells Fargo Trail/James Walker, Bk 8)
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (May, 1998)
Authors: James Walker and Jim Walker
Average review score:

not yet!
thats to bad they have wound the series down. my Brothers really like this series. my personal favorite would have to be number four, but still, they are all great. My self and My brothers aren't the only ones in my family who like them though. My mother and my Grandmother do. I would suggest it for anyone wanting a good book to engross yourself in for a few nights. great reading.

Excellent Story
I am sorry this is the last book of this series. I have really enjoyed all of the stories. It seems that as soon as the heroes reach some sort of settling down stage, the authors end the books. I would like to see some more stories about Zach Cobb and his brothers. I hope Mr. Walker will reconsider and write some more.

Los Macheteros: The Wells Fargo Robbery and the Violent Struggle for Puerto Rican Independence
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (April, 1987)
Author: Ronald Fernandez
Average review score:

The Story They Did Not Tell you
This book is a must for those who want to understand Puerto Rico's political situation. In a straightforward way, Ronald Fernandez presents the political and economic aspects of Puerto Rican society. He concisely explains how the island, as a 500-year old colony, evolved through history to acquire its actual form. In this book the reader will find more than the official line. Using the legendary robbery by Los Macheteros (The Machete Wielders) to the Wells Fargo in 1983 as an epicenter, Fernandez presents the story behind the scenes, and explains why Puerto Rico is "an island that handled ignorantly, could easily become America's Northern Ireland."

Insightful Lesson
Fernandez provides a detailed and knowledgeable analysis of an often overlooked political faction in Puerto Rican politics and analyses one of several acts of "terrorism" attributed to the Macheteros. Fernandez also provides the reader with a brief, yet enlightening, history of Puerto Rico and its relations to the United States and in doing so lays the groundwork for an explanation of the motives that lead the "Macheteros" to advocate independence for Puerto Rico by any means necessary. A must read for anyone interested in the hypocrisy of U.S. domestic (foreign to the macheteros) policy and for those interested in finding out some of the history behind the release of the Puerto Rican political prisoners several months ago.

Good guide
As a new resident to the area, I found this book to be very helpful, as well as fun to read.

Excellent guide book for natives and newcomers.
The author's writing is smooth and fun to read. As far as I know there is no other guide book like this around. I live in Chicago, but read A Native's Guide to Chicago's Northern Suburbs to learn about new recreation and entertainment outside of the city. Who knew they had a "leaning tower" in Niles!

Authors: Richard A. Mansir and A. Richard Mansir
Average review score:

REBUILD AN AMERICAN ICON
This new children's book illustrates very creatively how to build a legendary American Icon known as the Wells Fargo Stagecoach. Since 1852, the Wells Fargo stagecoach has been a symbol of reliable service accross the American West. Over one hundred forty-five years ago, the stages traveled across thousands of miles of desert, prairie, and mountain roads to deliver mail and cash. During the Gold Rush, Wells Fargo provided regular communications (including the first electronic transaction, by telegraph in 1864)... delivered vital goods... converted unprocessed gold into U.S. gold coins... and provided checks and bank drafts. Wells Fargo's familiar trademark, the Concord Stagecoach, is both a momento of its historic role in developing the West's premier stage line and an enduring symbol of reliability -- the pride in "coming through" for its customers that has been a Wells Fargo hallmark for over 145 years. The stagecoach symbol has stirred the hearts of Westerners and americans worldwide for many generations. This book is an excellent resource for teachers and children for learning about the American West and the development of the U.S. frontier. Today, the stagecoach symbol still stands for "service, reliability, dependability, and integretity." As Wells Fargo is recognized today as a premier financial services company and one of America's most admired corporations known for extraordinry customer service and for "coming through". Children of all ages and adults will enjoy this book. Wells Fargo, Fast Then. Fast Now. Since 185

A true treasure
Last week I found a package in my mail box... it was little piece of treasure from my best friend of over two decades. The cover of this book reads "Friends Are Forever" with beautiful illustrations all the way as you read and become absorbed with the treasures of poems by Susan Polis Schutz and others. I can hardly describe the beauty of the artwork every other page entails! But most of all, under the flip was handwritten, "To my best friend..." and signed by my life-long pal. Thanks bud, and thank you to all who contributed in putting this piece of treasure together. If you have a friend that you value and love, give them this precious book and let them know every ounce of what you feel for them!!! A true gift from the HEART.

50,000 Watts of Jazz from Fargo
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (December, 2001)
Author: Tim Rundquist
Average review score:

Brautigan Revisited, or Trout Fishing in the Slipstream
Sometimes a book can be outstanding despite, or because of, the author wearing his influences on his sleeve. Such is the case with "50,000 Watts of Jazz From Fargo," the second published novel by Tim Rundquist, which borrows heavily from the tradition of Richard Brautigan but nonetheless succeeds in "adding something new to the lexicon of great American drivers and passengers." Set in the mid 1980's, the book begins as two recent college graduates set off from California on a directionless, 60's-style journey across the American hinterlands, in search of nothing more tangible than "the view inside the maple syrup bottle." And, as Brautigan's alter ego seemed to encounter a trout stream at the foot of many of his adventures, the two young men, and later a third, prevail in seeking out, at nearly every turn, the "elusive radio waves" that clue them in to the constancies of heartland America.
The book, too, succeeds on a variety of fronts, from capturing small-town essences to detailing the thoughts and issues, profound and otherwise, crossing a young person's mind at that certain "exploratory" phase of life. Of particular interest are the segments detailing the boys' sojourn in the Florida Keys, as well as their wintertime visit, unheated Volkswagen and all, to northern Minnesota. Ultimately, "50,000 Watts" not only takes the reader to a lot of interesting, out-of-the-way places, but makes the trip enjoyable and worthwhile.

A Long Strange Trip
Mr. Rundquist captures some quintessential Americana in his new book. His 'sketches' of the interesting places visited by the denizens of the VW Bus are first-rate. I was ready to pitch everything and hit the road (again). Highly recommended.
